The 9-inch round is the workhorse size for shared and family-format takeaway, but most versions on the market force a compromise: shallow rounds behave like plates and lose any dish with sauce, while extra-deep versions carry more wall — and more cost — than a family curry or rice tray needs. SC803-1450L holds the middle at 46mm deep. It carries a full 1170ml of butter chicken, biryani, jambalaya or pasta bake without reaching the rim, and the 212mm opening still spreads the portion wide enough to cool evenly and present well when the lid comes off.
Rigidity comes from two directions. The wrinkle-wall ribs brace the sidewall against the outward load of a full liquid portion, and the embossed hex pattern pressed into the base resists the sag that flat-bottom pans develop when carried by the rim. At 15.5 grams, the pan lifts a full family portion one-handed without oil-canning — the property that matters most in the last fifty feet between the pass and the delivery bag.
